It all began when a young couple, Helane and Bill, danced together in 1955 and fell in love. In 1969 they moved their family from Montana to California and settled in Bakersfield. Close enough to Los Angeles to regulary visit all the famous dance schools, yet far enough away to have that friendly small town feel.

In 1970, Bill and Helane Bean bought Rosalie Stubbs School of Dance in North East Bakersfield and after two years in 1972, they bought an old grocery store on the corner of Panorama Drive and River Blvd and transformed it into a dance school. It became known as Helane's Dance Academy and would become one of the best and most well known dance schools in Bakersfield.

For more then 20 years now the school has been called AllStar Dance and Gymnastics and Belinda Bean their daughter has been teaching the same high quality classes in dance and gymnastics as her mother and father did before her. Belinda has done exstensive training at famous dance schools in Los Angeles, dance conventions accross America, and was taught by her parents daily the art of dance and gymnastics since she was able to walk. She competed in the Miss California Padgent, has been a fashion model, has been in films, but her passion like her parents is enriching the lives of children in Bakersfield with the art of dance and gymnastics.

Now her daughters, Blaysha and Tierra, are following in her foot steps and the foot steps of their grand parents, Bill and Helane Bean. At AllStar Dance and Gymnastics, located in the East Hills Mall since the 90's, you will feel welcome, you will find a school with large dance rooms, a large gym, waiting room, dance wear boutique, and best of all Belinda's smiling face to greet you.
